
The Chinese Program students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participate in the 2025 "澜湄周" Opening Ceremony in Kunming, China
March 21, 2025 - "Lanchang-Mekong Week" (澜湄周) Opening Ceremony was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, to foster cooperation and mutual understanding among the countries in the Lanchang-Mekong River region—China, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Cambodia—under various collaborative frameworks.
Nine Chinese Program students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University were honored to represent Thailand at the opening ceremony with a Thai classical dance performance to celebrate the event’s official launch and left a profound impression on attendees from various countries;

Thailand, a land of rich history and vibrant cultural heritage, is renowned for its distinctive and captivating art forms. Thai classical dance is a storytelling medium that blends graceful movements, unique melodies, and traditional narratives, intertwining history, legends, and folklore. From the elegant royal court dances to the lively folk performances, each movement deeply reflects the roots and wisdom of the Thai people.
The audience was immersed in an atmosphere of faith, unity, and peace, experiencing the cultural richness of Thailand’s four regions: North, Central, Northeast, and South. This performance showed the beauty and diversity of Thai heritage on an international stage.
Distinguished guests from various countries highly praised the SSRU students’ talent and performance. They were commended as exemplary young cultural ambassadors, in cultural diplomacy and strengthening international relations within the Lanchang-Mekong region.
